Ancient greek camp
The full service includes the coming of the whole association for a weekend and more if necessary.
The association will set up an ancient Greek camp on which will be proposed numerous animations including a large number of our workshops and our demonstrations.
The members could, if needed, take part to parade within the town to give more exposure the event. The public will be invited to come in the camp in order to immerse themselves into this ancient atmosphere and discover Greek history.

The prestation is spread all over a week-end but can be extended by a maximum of 2 days (to be negociated).
A large space to settle the camp (at least 100m²) is necessary, as well as a soft surface (no concrete) to lift the tents.

the army of Alexander the Great
This demonstration aims to let a large public discover the combatant of the army of Alexander the Great.
We will, among other things, come back on the story of this great conqueror as well as the proud soldiers who were accompanied him and their specific equipment. Thus, we will present the Greek hoplite (Heavy infantryman of the archaic period), Thracian peltast (javelineers and light fighters of the edges of the Greek world), and finally the Macedonian warrior wielding the immense Sarissa, a 5.20 meters long spear.

war in ancient Greece
This great demonstration goal is to present to a large public the evolution of warfare in the ancient Greek world.
During this presentation, we will come back to the apparition of the Greek Hoplite (citizen-soldier) who dominated the ancient battlefield from the VIIIth BC to the IVth BC century. First major heavy infantry of history, they invented a new way of fighting, the phalanx, where each Hoplite protect one another. Besides this military formation allowed the invention of the Western democracy.
This activity will present all the equipment of the Hoplite, its use, and the different military manoeuvre operated by the Greek warriors.
We will conclude this intervention with a duel and a battle!

armament
This is one of our classic and old-time favourite workshops. Systematically included in the ancient camp and during the services manoeuvre. It consists in presenting to the public the different pieces of equipment of the Hoplite and his evolution. We show the Archaic Hoplite, the Classical, the Hellenistic and also the skirmishers, and the peltasts.

Banquet / Ceramic
This workshop can take two different forms, a first one representing the use of Greek ceramic and a discovery of spices, then the second one taking on the form of the first one but adding to small preparation as it was back then.
Greek ceramic did not cease to evolve throughout their history. We find common ceramic of traditional forms with no specific decoration and a plethora of artistic style shaping the imagination of those ancient times. Geometrical style, orientalising style, black figures, black-glazes, red figures or even italics, Greek art set the standard of antiquity.

Our association offers you a discovery of these ceramics and their stories, but especially how our ancestors used this very special crockery, in everyday life or during a big banquet.
Even if wine has an omnipresent place, one cannot dismiss the world of spices which garnishes all dishes and drinks. Through a small olfactory game, youngs and less young, will discover or rediscover forgotten or still well-known scents.
For more private moments, we also offer a tasting of small preparations according to recipes from the time or from interpretations of Greek and Roman writings. And if the regulations allow it, wine can accompany this pleasant moment of discovery.
The workshop is led by 2 to 4 speakers depending on the format. The first format mobilizes two enthusiasts who can adapt their speeches to the public. The second format mobilizes three to four people in order to best respond and serve the participants of this workshop.
Like our ancestors, open to trade, negotiations on the terms of delivery and pricing are possible.

Clothing and braiding
This workshop aims to present the different clothing worn during the classical and hellenistic period aswell as offering an initiation to the two braid crafting techniques.
During this workshop we will approach the commonly worn clothes during antiquity and the difference depending on the social status and gender. Finally we will also show the prestige accessories.

During the workshop we will dress peope from the public in order to make them participate in the animation.
The workshop can be adapted and specifically intended for a young audience.
This workshop requires at least 3 speakers.
The presentation lasts, 30 minutes; not inclunding the time required to answer questions from the public depending of its interest.
The presentation can be accompanied by a second formula including the creation of its own braid, intended for an informed public, young child excluded. The realization of a braid (1 meter) easily taking 3 hours and limited to a group of 8 people (material constraint).

Olympic sports
This workshops aims to present in a fun and educational way the sports practices in the ancient greek world.
We will present the diverse forms of training the citizens practised back then to prepare themselves for war and the panhellenic games aswell (Olympic, Pythiques games, etc …)

Writing
This workshop can be held two ways :
The first one where the speakers presents the evolution of writing and its techniques, from mycenian tablets to papyrus.
The second possibility is to, along with the presentation, give a practical activity under the tutorship of our speakers.
The attendants are invited to write words, a little phrase or their name in ancient greek using the historical tools.
Available from 8 years old.
This workshop needs 2 to 3 speakers.
Mosaics
This workshop can be held two ways :
The first one where the speakers presents the mosaics making techniques in front of the public, including variants between greek and roman style.
The second possibility is to, along with the presentation, give a practical activity under the tutorship of our speakers.
The attendants are invited to realize a little mosaic.
This workshop needs 2 to 3 speakers.
Stone carving
This workshop can be held two ways :
The first one where the speakers presents the stone carving techniques in front of the public.
The second possibility is to, along with the presentation, give a practical activity under the tutorship of our speakers.
Limited to a group of 8 people. Siporex, a modern but easily workable material will be carved in order to realise a bas-relief individually with tools corresponding to the era’s criterias.
Plan ahead 2 hours for each session, available from 10 years old.
This workshop needs 2 to 3 speakers.
Demonstration for children
Little athlete
This workshop aims to present to children (we adapt depending of the age) the different olympic games sports.
After a short presentation of those games history, they will practise javelin (blunted) and disc throw or weighted jumps.
All activities are performed under the surveillance of a member of the association with secured equipment adapted to young children.
The activity lasts 30 minutes thus allowing to perform it with numerous scholar groups in one morning or afternoon.
Little hoplite
This workshop aims to present to children (we adapt depending of the age) the ancient greek warriors and their strategy in a fun and pedagogic way.
After presenting them shortly the military equipment, they will practise spear and shield fighting, in groups and duels.All activities are performed under the surveillance of a member of the association with secured equipment adapted to young children.
The activity lasts 30 minutes thus allowing to perform it with numerous scholar groups in one morning or afternoon.
